York County Special Olympics Celebrity Golf ClassicWord of mouth is a relative concept. For instance, who makes a more compelling argument for your hair product, me or Beyoncé?

Here’s a better example. During my 23 years as part of a committee that plans the York County Special Olympics Celebrity Golf Classic, a lot of people have said a lot of nice things about the tournament.

But never has someone like Johnny Holliday praised the event before the entire Mid-Atlantic Region during a live broadcast of a Washington Nationals baseball game. At least not until this year. Continue reading “When It Comes to PR, Sometimes You Just Get Lucky” »

Recently, the York County Chamber of Commerce asked us for a list of the non-profit organizations we have completed pro-bono work for over the past, say, five years or so.

The list below speaks for itself.  I was amazed and delighted that CH&B contributed work to that many deserving organizations.  The listed organizations received significant donations of time and effort.  There are still another two dozen or so not on the list for which we did quick one-time project work.

I am very proud of our community commitment.  If any non-profit reading this blog has a need for advertising agency expertise, give us a call.

Paul Katz wanted a sneak peek.

As chairman of Activate America at YMCA of the USA, Paul was about to invite the YMCA of York County to participate in the Gulick Collaborative, an organizational improvement effort designed to transform the way YMCAs work with individuals and families to support healthy living.

First, though, Paul thought he’d visit the YMCA of York County’s website to get a feel for what the local branch is doing.

“He thought it was great,” recalls Larry Richardson, CEO of the YMCA of York County. “He said, ‘I just want to tell you, I’m really impressed” by the Be Moved microsite and its animation.

Since we created that microsite, his kind words moved us, too.

But they also underscored the importance of a strong website. In today’s world, your website is often your first impression. If dated or ignored, it risks being your last impression, too.
