    When you spend your weekends hiking the Appalachian Trail, you leave nothing to chance. The idea of roughing it, like some sort of Valley Forge soldier, is not for the light hearted. You need gear that works.

    So, obviously, you research your options. Which boots (Asolo) do the best job of keeping your feet comfortable while handling the tricky terrain in a sure-footed way? Which tent (Black Diamond). is most effective at keeping the outside out? And which sleeping bag is best? Hey, it can get pretty cold on a January night in the woods… like single digits cold.
